The Horseback Riding Semesters Run as Follows:

Half Riding Lessons:

For ages 4-6, a half-hour private lesson with one of our highly skilled instructors. Students help groom and tack up the horse (~10min.), ride (~20min.) Students learn about horsemanship and basics of riding. They will start with steering, stopping, trotting, and proper positioning.

Price is $70 per lesson

Private Riding Lessons:

For ages 7+, an hour-long private lesson with one of our highly skilled instructors. Students help groom and tack up the horse (~15min.), ride (~40min.), and untack(~5min.) at the end of their lesson. Students will advance through the various stages of riding as their instructor sees fit. Each lesson is tailored to the individual student. All levels are welcome, beginner to advanced!

Price is $95 per lesson

Group Riding Lessons:

Group riding lessons are offered to those students who are advanced enough to control the horse without the full attention of the instructor. Instructors match riders with similar skill level and experience for double or triple lessons. Every rider must start in a private lesson and may request a group lesson.

Price is $70 per lesson

Safe Behavioral Practices to be Followed

• Social distancing (specifically staying 6 feet away from others when you must go into a shared space)
• Frequently washing hands or use alcohol-based (at least 60% alcohol) hand sanitizer
• Wearing cloth face coverings until the State deems is safe to forgo wearing them
• Avoiding touching eyes, nose, and mouth
• Staying home when sick
• If a child is suspected to be sick: Make a visual inspection of the child for signs of illness which could include flushed cheeks, rapid breathing or difficulty breathing (without recent physical activity), fatigue, extreme fussiness, or new unexlplained rash
• Ask the parent/guardian to confirm that the child does not have: Fever, body aches, fatigue, couch, congestion, sore throat, stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, loss of smell/taste, confusion, new rash, and/or changes to hands and feet
• Ask parents/guardians to take their child’s temperature either before coming to the facility or upon arrival at the facility. Upon their arrival, stand at least 6 feet away from the parent/guardian and child.

Parent Drop-Off and Pick-Up

• This will be a drive-thru drop off and pick up. Parents will remain in their vehicles to drop their child off
• Hand hygiene stations will be set up at the entrance of the facility, so that children can clean their hands before they enter. If a sink with soap and water is not available, we will provide hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol next to parent sign-in sheets. Keep hand sanitizer out of children’s reach and supervise use.
• Have camp staff greet children outside as they arrive.
• Ideally, we will encourage the same parent or designated person to drop off and pick up the child every day. If possible, older people such as grandparents or those with serious underlying medical conditions should not pick up children, because they are more at risk for severe illness from COVID-19.

Healthy Hand Hygiene Behavior to be Followed

• All children and staff will engage in hand hygiene at the following times:
• Arrival to the facility and after breaks
• Before and after preparing food or drinks
• Before and after eating or handling food, or feeding children
• Before and after administering medication or medical ointment
• After using the toilet or helping a child use the bathroom
• After coming in contact with bodily fluid
• After handling animals or cleaning up animal waste
• After playing outdoors or in sand
• After handling garbage
• Wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If hands are not visibly dirty, alcohol-based hand sanitizers with at least 60% alcohol can be used if soap and water are not readily available.
• Supervise children when they use hand sanitizer to prevent ingestion.
• Assist children with handwashing
• After assisting children with handwashing, staff should also wash their hands.
• Place posters describing handwashing steps near sinks.
