Mini Riders

Does your youngest want to play with animals and can’t wait for their first pony ride? Sweet Meadow Farm’s patient and well-trained animals are ready to introduce your child to a lifelong love!

Mini Riders is our mommy-and-me class designed for children ages 6 months to 5 years and serves as the next stepping stone toward learning how to ride. This class focuses on learning horsemanship skills while helping young riders grow comfortable and confident around animals, and horses!

Participants will learn how to safely care for and handle animals in our Pet Shop, Bird Room, and Aisleway. Each class includes approximately 20 minutes of animal interaction and 25 minutes with our mini horses, with an increased emphasis on mini horse care and unmounted riding basics. Every student will also enjoy a pony ride each class. 

Children must be under 45 lbs to ride the miniature horse.

September – May: Mini Meadows and Mini Rider classes are billed monthly. Mini Riders classes can be enrolled at any time and must give the office a two week notice when you would like to drop the class. Tuition will be prorated for the classes you are enrolled in.

For individual dates; please check our calendar for pop-up classes or contact our office to join in on a standard class time.

  • Programs take place in our heated barn, all year round.
  • All children must have an adult present interacting in the program.
  • The cost of the class included one child and one parent or guardian.  ALL OTHER ADULTS MUST BE CLEARED WITH THE OFFICE PRIOR TO THE PROGRAM.
  • We offer trial drop-in classes, please contact the office for more details.

Private sessions available September-May

  • Email the office to sign up
  • Private 45 minute sessions for $95 include 2 parents and 2 kids
  • Extra $15 for a third child
  • Offered week days from 10:00 to 3:30 depending on availability

 

Farm Policy:

Please arrive no more than 5 minutes before the start of your scheduled tour. Our farm is not open to the public outside of tour times, and we kindly ask that you refrain from roaming the property without an instructor. After your session, feel free to visit our farmstand, which is open to the public. Here, you can purchase beautiful plants and enjoy a glimpse of our adorable baby chicks. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

Cancellation Policy:

Full payment is due at the time of registration. Sweet Meadow Farm does not give credit and/or refunds if participants miss or cancel any of the Programs’ classes.

Important Notice:

We will only be running the program if 2 or more students are signed up for the day. We reserve the right to cancel the class and refund or credit payment of the class.
